David and Marci, you made Costa Rica my favorite port to visit during our cruise on Royal Carribean. Taking a tour arranged through the internet can make some folks weary. This was not the case. From the beginning you offered loads of information and tailored the tour to meet our interest. In addition to the wonderful hospitality and all reasons mentioned by William and Jenny, I look forward to returning to Costa Rica. It felt like an extended home. I especially liked your narration on the history of Costa Rica. You took history and made it fun!!

Well done David. You are by far the best tour guide we had in our cruise trip and I'm sure you would be the best tour guide anywhere, because you really care about your clients needs .I know we had a set tour but we felt so comfortable after we meet you that all of us decided to leave it up to you and let you surprise us and my friend you did.We had a great time by the river ,the fresh fruits stand, the local breakfast place, the beach, the fried fish at the beach restaurant and of course shopping for our spirits for the road.We had such much fun with you that I think if we just drove around town in the van all of us would agree that costa rica is beautiful but most important the people are beautiful.mucha pura vida.hasta la proxima.William Villalona Chicago Ill

We had the pleasure of touring with David Carnegie for the 7 in 1 combo tour during our stop at Port Limon on Sunday, May 2nd. From the beginning of our tour we were treated not only as passing tourists but as distant relatives visiting long lost relatives. The gracious nature of our tour guide and his assistant Marcia made for an extra special day in beautiful Costa Rica. Our first stop was “café con leche” with the locals. A cozy breakfast stop with great coffee and sweets to beat. We then made a photo stop in town that was truly picturesque offering our cruise ship as a backdrop. It made for a great shot! Our group then decided to stop for brewskis…it wasn’t quite noon yet but we figured it was noon somewhere! Next we boarded river verandas for a relaxing tour of Tortuguero Canal offering monkey, bird and small alligator sightings. We were then off for a stop at a local fruit stand and banana plantation all while David enlightened us with historical and humorous tidbits. Our last stop was at Cahuita national park where we stopped for a bite at a cute eatery right on the beach. Fantastic Red Snapper and tropical drinks!

Thank you David and Marcia for a wonderful experience in Costa Rica. Our group felt warmly embraced by your pleasant nature and your trickle of fun historical facts. Bottom line, you made our tour experience absolutely wonderful. We hope to visit with you again soon and HIGHLY RECOMMEND your services to any visiting shore excursioner(s). Thanks again.

Hey. When we are unhurried and wise, we perceive that only great and worthy things have any permanent and absolute existence, that petty fears and petty pleasures are but the shadow of the reality. I am from Canada and now teach English, tell me whether I wrote the following sentence: "Helpful information sources the best way to discuss how to start a business is to look."

Thank you very much :-). Juno.

How are you?

Hope you remember me - we shared a table at Soda Miss Sam in Puerto Viejo!

I'm back now in cold Austria and starting working again tomorrow….so I often think back to charming and warm Costa Rica.

It was very nice to meet you guys!

Have a great day!

David

Just wanted to say thanks for everything during our trip. I've been busy with work since I came back from the trip (I need to make all the money I spent drinking Imperial down there). But thanks a lot anyway, I'm really glad you were the one who was able to show us Limon I feel like I really got to see the city and learned a lot about it. All the help we got from you was great about Limon Province. I really think I took advantage of what there was to do in Limon and also thanks a lot for taking Dave (the Rutgers Gringo Dave) and me out with you and your son, we had a blast it was really a lot of fun and if I'm in Limon again I'll definitely be stopping in to see you and this time the beer is on me.

DAVID:

We all had a fantastic time on David Carnegie's 5-In-1 Combo Tour Shore Excursion in Puerto Limon,Costa Rica.

The weather was perfect. 85 degrees F, (Chicago was 22 degrees the same day!), light NE sea breeze gently swaying the coconut palms and our little group of Midwesterners enjoying some Bob Marley and Walter Ferguson music (Reggae-Calypso).

David gave us the millionaire treatment "off the beaten path".

First, we took a great photo-op from the El Faro Restaurant vantage point overlooking Puerto Limon and the Historic Isla Uvita (Quiribri). We then took a panoramic drive along the seacoast road connecting Puerto Limon with her sister town Puerto Moin. There, we boarded a small craft (canopy covered with all safety equipment) and spent nearly one hour taking pictures of the incredible display of tropical birds inhabiting this narrow "Amazon Canal". Iguanas, Jesus Christ lizards, sloths, monkeys, crocodiles and a special species of bat almost invisibly living on the side of a tree all told us HELLO! and upon departing, please come back again!

We next took a short back road drive through some of the greenest fields I have ever seen in my life. The banana plantation we then toured showed me how much I never knew about our favorite breakfast cereal fruit.

Our next to last stop, Cahuita National Park showed me why this exotic Province is so special. Coral Reefs, white and black sand beaches and fantastic natural walking trails, all in two hours time. The cuisine was fantastic and with a great price tag! Red Snapper dinner with patacones, rice and beans, typical salad all for $10.00!

Last stop before the Pier was a handicrafts shop where we purchased items we won't see anywhere else in the Western Hemisphere, all meticulously hand-created by local BriBri Indigenous men and women. David told me to come back on a longer vacation when the kids finish school in June and he'll show us a special time at a RELAX-RELAX-RELAX pace. He mentioned something we in theUSA can't even imagine: Costa Rica has NO STANDING ARMY and has had none since 1949!!! Why can't us Gringos get it together like the Tico's?

Upon returning to the Pier, I felt like I have lived here all my life, yet only in the space of 8 hours time.

Thank you so much, David Carnegie and your entire team of co-workers. God-Willing, I'll be back again and I highly recommend anyone reading this post to visit Mr. Carnegie's site at www.caribbeancostaricans.citymax.com and give him a try.

You'll be glad you did!

Marc Kaplan - March 4th, 2010

Dear Maria,

I just wanted to take the time to extend my appreciation and gratitude for the wonderful tour you arranged for us on Sunday, March 28th at Puerto Limon, Costa Rico.

I know I had called you about our guide not being there, but we were late getting off the ship and our paths kept missing, until David Carnegie and I met.  What a wonderful guy!

My wife and I were given a grand tour, beyond our expectations.  The Jungle Breezes Canopy tour was a highlight of our trip, and the staff at Jungle Breezes (Jose and the rest) were great.

David took us around Puerto Limon because the weather was not suitable for our trip to Playa Bonita, and we were treated to, among other things, a great road-side fruit/vegetable stand, where we sampled the incredible tastes of fresh finger bananas, ripe pineapple, cocoa pods; coconut milk and other incredible delights.

I would definitely recommend him and your tour company to anyone interested in seeing Puerto Limon, specifically, and Costa Rico in general.

Again, I thank you for your quick correspondences, and working with me to make this trip to Costa Rico a memorable one for me and my wife, and I would ask you to please send my best to David Carnegie, a marvelous host that helped us appreciate the beauty of the Atlantic side of Costa Rico.

Thank you,

"David,  I'm back in USA.  We had a great day with you.  And I had a great rest of the week in CR.
The girls were thrilled and enjoyed the trip.  A bit tired but lots of good memories. Have a great day and keep on praying.
Thanks, Greg
Note: one thing I would suggest is a speaker system for the van.  Hard to hear your singing "If the Cap Fit"
